This document forms part of the platform’s legal documentation and applies together with:

  • the Terms of Use,
  • the Privacy Policy,
  • the other platform documents.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

1.1. Cookies are small files stored on the user’s device when visiting a website.

1.2. In addition to cookies, the platform may use similar technologies, including:

  • pixels;
  • tags;
  • browser local storage;
  • SDKs;
  • analytics scripts;
  • traffic and behaviour measurement tools.

1.3. In this document, all such technologies are jointly referred to as cookies and tracking technologies for convenience.

1.4. As of the publication date of this document, the platform only uses technical cookies and browser local storage necessary for the basic operation of the website. Analytical, advertising and marketing trackers are not active in the current configuration.

2. What technologies LetFlat.net may use

LetFlat.net may use the following categories of cookies and tracking technologies:

2.1. Strictly necessary / technical cookies

These cookies and technologies are necessary for the basic operation of the website and its functions, for example for:

  • proper page loading;
  • site navigation;
  • interface language selection;
  • account login;
  • maintenance of the user session;
  • protection against abuse and basic security.

Without such cookies, the website or some of its functions may not work properly.

As of the date of this document, this is the only category actually active on the website.

2.2. Functional cookies

These cookies may be used for:

  • saving user preferences;
  • improving ease of use;
  • remembering interface settings;
  • supporting additional user functions.

2.3. Analytical cookies

These technologies may be used to analyse how users interact with the website, for example:

  • which pages are visited most often;
  • how long users spend on the website;
  • how users navigate through the platform;
  • where errors or technical difficulties arise;
  • which functions are used most often.

The purpose is to improve the platform, the interface and the user experience.

2.4. Marketing and advertising cookies

These technologies may be used for:

  • evaluating advertising effectiveness;
  • showing more relevant offers;
  • retargeting;
  • limiting advertising frequency;
  • measuring conversions;
  • analysing marketing campaigns.

2.5. Behavioural and UX tools

The platform may use tools that help understand how the user interacts with the website, including:

  • heat maps;
  • recordings of user interaction scenarios;
  • analysis of clicks, scrolls and interface behaviour;
  • identification of problems in forms and navigation.

3. What third-party services may be used

As the platform develops further, LetFlat.net may use, in particular, the following tools and categories of third-party services:

  • Google Analytics
  • Meta Pixel
  • TikTok Pixel
  • Hotjar
  • Microsoft Clarity
  • other equivalent analytics, marketing, advertising and tracking services if they are connected in the future.

The actual list of services may change. The currently used set of technologies depends on the platform’s real technical configuration.

As of the publication date of this document, the analytical and marketing third-party services listed above are not actually activated.

4. Why cookies and tracking are used

Cookies and similar technologies may be used by the platform for the following purposes:

  • ensuring the technical operation of the website;

  • analysing traffic and improving the platform;
  • measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns;
  • personalising the user experience;
  • protecting the platform against abuse;
  • detecting errors and technical issues;
  • assessing demand for platform functions.

As of the publication date of this document, only purposes related to technical operation of the site, interface language, authentication, the cookie banner choice and favourite listings storage are actually implemented.

5. Legal bases for the use of cookies

5.1. Strictly necessary cookies may be used without separate consent to the extent that they are objectively necessary for the operation of the site and the provision of a service expressly requested by the user.

5.2. Analytical, marketing, advertising and other non-essential cookies are used on the basis of the user’s consent where such consent is required by applicable law.

5.3. If the law requires prior consent before installing certain cookies, those cookies must not be activated until the relevant consent has been obtained.

6. User consent

6.1. When first visiting the site, the user may see a cookie notice / banner.

6.2. Through the banner or cookie settings interface, the user may, depending on the actually implemented configuration of the site:

  • accept all cookies;
  • choose only necessary cookies;
  • change their decision later.

6.3. Consent for non-essential cookies must be:

  • freely given;
  • informed;
  • specific;
  • expressed by a clear affirmative action.

6.4. Refusal of non-essential cookies must not deprive the user of access to the basic functionality of the site, except where a function technically depends on such technologies and this is clearly explained to the user.

6.5. As of the date of this document, the banner allows the user either to accept the current site configuration or to keep only the necessary technologies. Separate category-by-category settings will only be introduced together with the actual implementation of non-essential trackers.

7. Withdrawal of consent

7.1. The user may change their decision and withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time.

7.2. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal where that processing was based on previously given consent.

7.3. Consent may be withdrawn:

  • through the site’s cookie settings, if such an interface is available;
  • through browser settings;
  • through any other means that the platform may make available.

7.4. At the current stage, the user can reopen the banner through the cookie settings link in the website footer and change their previous choice.

8. Managing cookies through the browser

8.1. The user may also manage cookies through their browser settings, including:

  • deleting cookies;
  • blocking cookies;
  • restricting cookie installation;
  • receiving a notification before cookies are installed.

8.2. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the availability and proper operation of some site functions.

9. Cookie retention periods

9.1. Cookies may be:

  • session cookies, which operate only for the duration of the current browser session;
  • persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device until the defined period expires or until the user deletes them.

9.2. The specific retention period depends on the type of cookie, its purpose, browser settings and the actual site configuration.

9.3. LetFlat.net aims to use reasonable retention periods and not to retain cookies longer than necessary for the relevant purpose.

10. Data transfers through third-party technologies

10.1. When third-party analytics, advertising or marketing services are used, part of the data relating to visits to the site may be transferred to the corresponding external providers.

10.2. Those providers may process data under their own rules and privacy policies within the limits defined by their role, contractual arrangements with the platform and applicable law.

10.3. Depending on the service used, data may be processed outside the user’s country and, in some cases, outside the European Economic Area.

10.4. If such transfers take place, they must be carried out in compliance with applicable rules on international data transfers.

11. Relationship with the Privacy Policy

11.1. Where cookies and tracking technologies lead to the processing of personal data, that processing is also governed by the LetFlat.net Privacy Policy.

11.2. This Cookies Policy must be read together with the Privacy Policy.

12. User rights

Depending on the nature of the technologies used and applicable law, the user may have the right to:

  • receive information about the use of cookies;
  • give or withhold consent for non-essential cookies;
  • withdraw consent previously given;
  • object to certain types of processing;

13.2. The current version of the document is published on the website and takes effect from the date of publication unless otherwise specified.

13.3. If changes materially affect users’ rights or the way cookies are used, the platform may additionally inform users where required by law or considered appropriate.
